Spectre Estate Review

Horrors supposed to inspire feature or at least thrill, though, it mostly concerns the movie industry since the niche of horror-themed slots has never been known for being actually scary. We're not sure whether Just For The Win in conjunction with their partner Microgaming decided to break the pattern and deliver something indeed thrilling and frightening with their brand new release of a ghost-themed slot, but they actually managed to do so, however, not in a way it supposed to be. Spectre Estate provides a nice ghost action just for Halloween, yet don't expect to be shivering due to the fearful atmosphere or screamers, as the game is much more horror-like in terms of the figures rather than the theme.

Spectre Estate - Design and Symbols

The actions take place in an abandoned haunted mansion where the old dwellers turned into ghosts and roam the free real estate. We have to pay tribute to the design team since everything looks outstanding and depicted in detail. Just For The Win has always stuck to the meticulous approach when it comes to the design, and Spectre Estate is no exception as the graphics are really top-notch quality here. Loading the game will take you into the midst of a corridor with circular stairways on either side of the reels with numerous candles on each step, illuminating the background with bizarre blue light. As well as the exceptional graphics, the soundtrack is another of highlights. Unfortunately, not a Spooky Scary Skeletons soundtrack, but a piece of a rather mysterious music plays whilst you spin the reels, capturing the essential vibe and picking up the tempo when you hit the bonus features to add a final touch to the atmosphere.

The paytable does not offer too many related symbols. There are 7 symbols in total split into highs and lows. On the lower side, we get a bunch of familiar icons, to be more precise the card suits, including hearts, spades, diamonds, and clubs. Thanks to the touch of styling applied, they're are given a dash of personality and correspond to the theme. The lows are followed by 3 premiums represented by a man, a woman, and the game's logo.

There's also a Wild symbol included, acting as a substitute to any other regular symbols, and which has the same value as the top-paying game's logo symbol on top of everything. You'll require at least 3 symbols on a line to score a win, while the highest regular rewards are given for 5-of-a-kind combos. Landing 5 instances of the low-paying ones will award no more than 4x of the bet, while the more valuable symbols will award from 8x to 15x of the bet.

Spectre Estate - Technical Info

Spectre Estate is played across 5x4 sized reelset with 40 ways to play. The game is powered by a high volatile math model, so don't expect the wins to occur fairly often as you won't have those smaller wins to keep you afloat. Moreover, you'll have to manifest a great level of patience awaiting the big wins to come thus adjust your bets wiser to survive in the long run. The hit frequency also leaves much to be desired at 20.24%, meaning that theoretically, only every 5th spin will be a winning one. Just For The Win is helping though with the RTP of 96.12%, which is slightly above the average level within the industry of 96%.

Players drop in by setting bets from 0.1$ to 100$ per spin, providing a rather wide betting range that would appeal to both high-rollers and casual less risky players. As alluded to earlier, the figures in Spectre Estate are really shocking.

Spectre Estate Slot Review 1550

Taking into consideration the brutal math model the max potential is meager indeed. All you can hope for is 2,219x of the bet, and even low volatile slots offer higher payout potentials for sure. A win of 221,900$ on a single spin is possible when playing with the max bet option available, however, we doubt whether it's worth the risk.

Spectre Estate - Bonus Features

When it comes to the features, Spectre Estate has quite saturated gameplay so that you'll hardly have a dull moment during the session. A blue ghost lady is a Feature Symbol, and it may land onto the reels during both base and bonus games. There's an extra horizontal row above the reels displaying random features that are randomly determined at the beginning of each spin. Whenever 2 or more Feature Symbols appear anywhere on the grid, the features displayed above the respective reels are activated.

Spectre Estate Slot Gameplay 3

There are 7 features in total, and it's possible to trigger 5 at once on a single spin.

  • 1x Bet / 2x Bet - an instant cash prize of 1x or 2x of the bet will be awarded after the current spin.
  • + Wild - additional Wilds will be added to the reels.
  • Wild 2x / Wild 3x - a 2x or 3x multiplier will be attached to all instances of the Wild symbols on the reel.
  • Wild Expansion - all Wilds on the reel will expand to cover the entire reel.
  • Free Spins - awards 8 Free Spins.

If +Wild, Wild Expansion, and Wild 2x or 3x modifiers land during the base game, a respin with the activated features will be awarded. However, it's not possible to trigger new features during the respins.

When Free Spins are triggered with any other active features, they are carried over to the Free Spins round and remain active for the duration of the bonus. Moreover, any other active Free Spins modifiers award +2 spins and landing a Feature Symbol on an inactive reel during the bonus game awards 2 additional Free Spins.

The 200 Spins Experience in Spectre Estate

We've tested this game for you as you might be interested in our personal experience in this game. Before sharing the details, it's necessary to point that 200 spins are not enough to provide any accurate statistics, thus here we'll describe our personal subjective opinion and experience.

As usual, we opted for a modest bet of 1$ per spin to make things simple and the autospins mode. The actin started pretty fast as we managed to trigger 2 bonuses within the first 20 spins, which led to nothing honestly, but the fact that it pops up rather often, however, the next approximately 70 spins were as unfortunate as possible. During the first 100 spins, the highest reward we could get was 14 times the bet, however, by the end of the first 100 spins, our loss exceeded 60 bucks.

The second started just like the first, though, this time the Feature Symbols awarded us the Free Spins round. It was a relief to eventually get at least something except for the 1xBet prizes. The Free Spins ended up with a total surplus of 31.5x, partially thanks to a single Big Win, which was 16.1x, that occurred during our 200 spins.

Spectre-Estate

All said and done, it was a pleasing adventure through the haunted house even though it hadn't been as successful as we would like it to be. Nevertheless, we wish you more luck than we had.

Spectre Estate - Verdict

All up, Just For The Win's brainchild is a controversial game indeed. It boasts a plethora of features, and the level of visual appearance is actually stunning. However, it still fails to be a tier 1 game and doesn't provide a lot of reasons for players to feel drawn to spin the reels on it.

On one hand, it catches the eye from the first sight with the exceptional graphic quality and the immersive atmosphere, which is complemented with a mysterious soundtrack, giving it a touch of life. Even though the symbols do share the overall style and are also depicted in detail, the devs failed to make them actually corresponding to the theme and it's actually nonsense for a haunted mansion theme to include only 2 respective symbols, and yet the specials.

As for the features involved, Spectre Estate doesn't provide any kind of novelty here, but the feature set is decent and shall keep you in the right mood during the session. However, if you're not blessed with luck don't expect to be showered in modifiers since the hit rate is undoubtedly poor. Even though the features are entertaining and seem to be lucrative, they're not. As you can see, Just For The Win is quite stingy with Spectre Estate so you will benefit neither from the regular payouts nor from the features. Not to say that 2,219 times the bet is a poor amount, though, we've seen a lot higher ones so far, so taking the risk in this game is definitely not worth it.

In a nutshell, those who are crazy about the theme and appreciate the way of triggering features will be excited with this title. Otherwise, we can't think of a single reason to devote your time and money to this title.
