Agent of Hearts Slot Review, Demo Play, Payout, Free Spins & Bonuses

Agent of Hearts is the third slot in the Alice In Wonderland-inspired series from Play’n Go, and it comes with a 7-7-5-5-5-7-7 cluster pays grid. You’ll collect character winning symbols that trigger 4 different Agent modifiers, and these take turns playing out in the single spin bonus round. In addition, you get random wilds and a mega wild in the end, and this can lead to payouts up to 5,262x your stake.

Agent of Hearts Review

Play’n Go has conjured up their own backstory this time, building on Lewis Carroll’s famous fantasy-world of Wonderland. The keys to the safe containing the Queen’s heart have been stolen, and it’s your job, together with 4 wonderland agents, to retrieve these stolen keys. Of course, these keys are ‘key’ to triggering the single spin bonus round, which is a tense and feature-rich affair every time.

The 4 Agents help you out in the base game too, as you’ll collect character symbols that trigger different modifiers. The modifiers are a bit too similar in our view, but they can still prolong the cascading wins sequence and lead to decent base game payouts. Play’n Go has plenty of cluster pay grid slots under their belt, and this is another solid effort from the highly productive developer.

Agent of Hearts Slot Features

The Cascading Reels system removes all winning symbols from the grid, and this allows new or existing symbols to drop down to fill the gaps. You have wilds to help you out in that regard, and these red heart ‘W’ symbols step in for all regular pay symbols. The cascading wins go on as long as you keep winning, and lengthy cascades are key to triggering multiple modifiers.

Sometimes, on non-winning spins, you might be awarded the random Second Chance feature.

You will then get 4 to 7 wilds randomly placed on the grid, and this might lead to a win that triggers the cascading feature.

The 4 premium character symbols have a corresponding Agent Meter on the left-hand side, and any winning premium symbols are thus collected. You need 6 winning symbols to fill a meter, and this awards a corresponding character modifier once the cascading sequence ends. The White Rabbit can appear at random times to unlock a modifier also, and the Agent modifiers are as follows:

  • Cupcake Splat - the Dormouse runs from the top left corner to the bottom right corner, leaving a trail of cupcakes behind. These cupcakes explode to remove the underlying symbols, or they transform into a random matching symbol.
  • Smokin’ Phat - the Caterpillar blows 1 to 3 smoke trails diagonally across the grid, and this removes or transforms the affected symbols.
  • Grinning Cat - a massive Cheshire Cat grin overlays the grid, transforming or removing the symbols beneath.
  • Mad Hat - awards 6 to 9 Mad Hatter symbols randomly placed on the grid. These remove adjacent symbols, and transform into a randomly selected matching symbol.

The key symbols are literally at the heart of this thing, and you need to collect 3 keys on a single cascading sequence to open the big heart on top of the reels.

This triggers the Queen’s Heart Bonus Round, and you get 1 free spin that cannot be retriggered.

All 4 Agent modifiers take turns playing out as cascading sequences end, before the Random Hearts Wild feature is triggered. This awards up to 7 regular wilds randomly placed on the grid, before the 3x2 sized Mega Wild heart drops down to a random position.

A lengthy cascade with modifiers landed us a pretty solid payout towards the middle of the almost 4-minute highlights video. We skip to the bonus round trigger right after, and you can see for yourself how we fared by hitting the play button below.

Review Summary

Play’n Go does the Alice in Wonderland theme well once again, and they’ve even come up with their very own story to provide context for the features in Agent of Hearts. Being the first cluster pays grid slot in the series, we had hoped for a bit more variety in the modifiers. They all simply remove or transform symbols, which can get a bit tedious after a while.

The single spin bonus round is interesting though, not least since you are guaranteed to see every modifier and feature the game has to offer. The feature will never be boring at least, but you might need the somewhat elusive top-tier Mad Hatter symbol to crack the 5,262x potential. With more unique Agent modifiers, Agent of Hearts could have been top-notch, but it’s still a highly entertaining release offering plenty of bang for your buck.

Pros

  • Up to 7 random wilds on non-winning spins
  • Collect winning symbols to trigger 4 modifiers
  • 1 FS w/ all 4 modifiers + random wilds & mega wild
  • Win up to 5,262x your stake

Cons

  • Beware of adjustable RTP ranges
  • All 4 modifiers are pretty similar

Highly volatile, Play'n GO has rated this part of the math model at 8 out of 10, a characteristic amplified by the one-off nature of the central Queen's Heart. Agent of Hearts Overall Verdict. The theme and graphics for Agent of Hearts are fun and entertaining. This is a simplistic game to play and would suit any.
